Many young members are actively involved in various ministries, including music, drama, and outreach programs, which not only enhance their spiritual development but also attract their peers to the church. This active participation fosters a sense of community and belonging, making the church environment appealing to younger generations. Moreover, the emphasis on holiness and moral conduct resonates with many youth, aligning with their desire for purpose and direction in their lives.

The involvement of youth in CAC has proven to be a catalyst for church growth. By organizing events, youth conferences, and social activities, they create platforms for fellowship and evangelism, thereby increasing the church’s visibility in the community. The church’s focus on mentorship and leadership training empowers young members, equipping them with skills that enhance their contributions to the church and society at large. • Statement of the Problem

The problem of the Youth lifestyle and church growth in Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria is a multifaceted issue that has been the subject of numerous studies. The youth, who are the future of the church, are increasingly adopting lifestyles that are not in line with the teachings of the church, thereby affecting its growth (Adeyemi, 2017).

The first aspect of the problem is the increasing secularization among the youth. Many young people are becoming more attracted to secular lifestyles, which often conflict with the values and teachings of the church (Ogbonnaya, 2015). This secularization is leading to a decrease in church attendance and participation among the youth, which is negatively affecting the growth of the church.

Another aspect of the problem is the influence of social media and the internet. The youth are spending more time on social media and the internet, which exposes them to a variety of influences, some of which are contrary to the teachings of the church (Eze, 2018). This exposure is leading to a shift in values and beliefs among the youth, which is affecting their commitment to the church.

The third aspect of the problem is the lack of effective youth programs in many churches. Many churches in Nigeria do not have programs that are specifically designed to engage the youth and address their unique needs and challenges (Adeyemi, 2017). The aim of the study is to examine the Youth lifestyle and church growth in Christ Apostolic Church.  The specific objectives of the study are:

1. To examine the correlation between youth lifestyles and church growth in Nigeria.
2. To identify the specific youth behaviors that are negatively impacting church growth.
3. To understand the extent of the influence of youth lifestyles on the decline in church attendance and participation.
4. To explore possible strategies that the church can implement to mitigate the negative effects of youth lifestyles on its growth.

1.8 Operational Definition of Terms

Negative Effect: This term refers to an undesirable or harmful outcome resulting from an action, condition, or event. In this context, it refers to the detrimental impact that certain behaviors or actions can have on a particular situation or entity.

Youth: This term generally refers to the phase of life between childhood and adulthood. The United Nations, for instance, defines ‘youth’ as individuals between the ages of 15 and 24 years. However, the age range can vary depending on the cultural, legal, and sociological contexts.

Lifestyles: This term refers to the way individuals or groups live, including their behaviors, attitudes, and values. It encompasses various aspects such as diet, physical activity, leisure activities, and social relationships. Lifestyles can significantly influence individuals’ health, well-being, and social interactions.
