INTRODUCTION

• Background to the Study

In the Ubeji Community of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, poor solid waste management has been identified as a significant problem. According to a study by Omuta (2015), the improper disposal of solid waste in this region has led to a myriad of health and environmental issues. The study further revealed that the majority of the inhabitants of Ubeji Community are not aware of the implications of poor solid waste management, which exacerbates the problem.

The health implications of poor solid waste management in the Ubeji Community are severe. According to a study by Ezeah and Roberts (2012), the improper disposal of solid waste can lead to the spread of diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and malaria.
