How Long Should a Mother Breastfeed a New Baby?

Breastfeeding is essential because it helps babies get the nutrients they need to grow and thrive in their first years of life. Healthcare providers, women, and the general public all have differing opinions on how long nursing should last. Babies should be breastfed exclusively during the first six months of their lives, according to the World Health Organisation. During this time, the baby’s nutritional demands are perfectly met by the mother’s milk. Antibodies in breast milk aid infants in their battle against harmful germs and viruses.

However, the time spent nursing a child might vary from one situation to the next. The health advantages of breastfeeding for both mother and child may encourage some women to continue the practise for a longer duration.
