CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Health care is an aspect that plays a vital role in the successful achievement of its curriculums. Health care work takes a succeeding step in managing its activities. Each step has a specified duration of time and a mapped out work coed associated with it. The time stipulated to be utilized maximally to enable you to cover the workload elaborately.
The issue of analyzing the workload and time involved in a Healthcare category and distributing the workload is time intervals. For maximum knowledge impact, it’s a great concern to the professoriate in the field. This is where comprehensive Healthcare Management is always designed to suit the curriculum.
Healthcare Management does not only involve the capture of time duties to Healthcare personnel, it also involves the careful allocation other resources like labor force ad space available. When all these factors are not adequately taken care of, it leads to classes which hinder the effective Healthcare operation.
1.2 Background of the Study
Careful management of health care is directly related to a country’s ability to address public health concerns. Even so, many health systems and Healthcare monitoring Systems run into difficulty achieving their goals because they have not addressed how the medicines essential to saving lives and improving health will be managed, supplied, and used. Medicines can be expensive to purchase and distribute, but shortages of essential medicines, improper use of medicines, and spending on unnecessary or low-quality medicines also have a high cost of wasted resources and preventable illness and death.
Because medicines are so important and resources so limited; ways have been developed to improve the supply and use of medicines while minimizing costs. Health care management represents the whole set of activities aimed at ensuring the timely availability and appropriate use of safe, effective quality medicines and related products and services in any healthcare setting.
1.3 Statement Of The Problem
Healthcare right from the inception of their duties operates their business manually. All forms of health management issues are done by human beings who facilitate their respective functions by making use of locking the door or storing files in a locked filing cabinet or safe. With the increasing rate of Information System, which leads to the voluminous cabinet, safe workstations containing the vital information, the above-described system as practiced has failed to meet the requirement of customers/Healthcare.
Heath monitoring issues provided by the computer operating system comes with a preset superuser account and password. The superuser may have a password to control health care network functionality, another to conduct or access nightly backups, create accounts and so on. For a cracker, logging on to a system as the superuser is possibly the best way to collect data or do damage. If the superuser has not changed an operating system’s Healthcare monitoring system. System passwords, the healthcare network is vulnerable to attack. Most crackers know these passwords and their first attempt to break into a healthcare network is simply to try them. If an attacker cannot log on as the superuser, the next best thing might be to figure out the username and password of a regular user. Sometimes hackers and crackers log on before legitimate users.
1.4 Significance of the Study
Healthcare monitoring System in these contemporary times is a dire must. For the proper guarantee of human health, it might be necessary to formulate a management scheme to monitor the in-out stock of treatments not provided free health care services. Furthermore, it will serve as an aid to problems which health institutions have faced in recent times. It will help in centralizations of Healthcare monitoring systemSystem as well as easing the risk of wrong treatment aids to patients.
Finally, it would be helpful in information availability. This means that the computing systems used to store and process the Healthcare information, the security controls used to protect it, and the communication channels used to access it must be functioning correctly. High availability systems aim to remain available at all times, preventing service disruption due to power outages, hardware failures, and system upgrades. Ensuring availability also involves preventing denial-of-service attacks at all cost.
1.5 Objectives of the Study
Several departments in Healthcare Management System has been for the past year eve till date designing their Duties schedule manually.
The primary aim of this project work is to relieve the burden and obstacle hungering the production of effective Healthcare Management by developing a computer Healthcare monitoring System which will be timely, more accurate more reliable and more comprehensive. This new system also makes the entire operation very easy.
1.6 Scope of the Study
The overall goal of this work is purely investigative and prescriptive. Federal Healthcare Center Owerri has been selected as our case study.
Our work is limited to the study of Healthcare monitoring System existing in FMC Owerri and designing a Healthcare monitoring System for its computerization.
1.7 Limitations of the Study
I encountered many difficulties in the pursuit of material and resources that help for the successful completion of this project work.
It was also difficult to collect data form mine case study due to unavailability of personnel it gives me adequate information in my area of study.
1.8 Definition of Terms
Healthcare: – According to Oxford advanced accuracy, Healthcare is an institution providing Healthcare treatment and care for ill and injured people or a building where people who are sick, injured or ill are given Healthcare treatment and care.
Computer:- A computer is an election machine or devices working under the control of stored Healthcare monitoring system. Systems (system software) automatically accepting data as input, processing it and producing information as output.
System: – system is a healthcare network of interrupted procedures tried together to perform a specific task.
Healthcare: – is the maintenance or improvement of health via the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, illness and other physical and mental impairments in human beings.
Schedule:- A plan that lists all the work that you have to do and when you must do each thing.
Manual:- This is a physical way to carrying out intervention.
Duties time interval:- Duties time interval is the interval form the start of duties to the close of duties each day.
