INTRODUCTION

• Background to the Study

The study examines the role of the Church in Raising Godly Politicians in RCCG. The study is restricted to RCCG Lagos Province 14.

• Operational Definition of Terms

Role: In this context, “role” refers to the function or part played by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in nurturing and developing godly politicians. It involves the responsibilities and actions taken by the church to influence and guide its members towards a political career that aligns with Christian values.

Church: A church is a religious institution where Christians gather for worship. It serves as a community of believers who share common religious beliefs. In this context, it refers to the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Raising Godly Politicians: This phrase refers to the process of nurturing, educating, and guiding individuals, particularly those with political ambitions, to uphold and apply Christian values and principles in their political careers. It involves instilling in them a sense of responsibility, integrity, and commitment to serve the public based on the teachings of the Bible.

RCCG: The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is a Pentecostal megachurch and denomination founded in Lagos, Nigeria.
